Hindu Succession Amendment Act 2005
The Hindu Succession Act originally only allowed for sons to inherit their father’s property. Daughters were excluded and this was looked at as being unfair. The Hindu Succession (Amendment) Act was passed in 2005, thus addressing this issue.
